Aspiration Day

On Friday, April 26, 2019 Class Representatives (PK) Bandung 3 High School held an Aspiration Day event. This activity is carried out to accommodate the aspirations of citizens 3.

All students who come can give their aspirations for school through this event.
And all these aspirations will be conveyed to the school principal to make the school better in the future.
At this event there was a special guest, Amigdala who was a performer at this event.

And this activity was also a talk show from the Chancellor of Padjadjaran University and other speakers.

All 10th and 11th classes are required to attend to give their aspirations to the school through this event.
But, unfortunately on that day I did not take part in the event because I was sick and I learned the contents of this Aspiration Day activity from my friend who attended this event.

Thank You

Natural Phenomenon : Circumhorizon Arcs

NATURAL PHENOMENON: CIRCUMHORIZON ARCS
circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon that belongs to the family of ice halos formed by the refraction of sun- or moonlight in plate-shaped ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere, typically in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. In its full form, the arc has the appearance of a large, brightly spectrum-coloured band (red being the topmost colour) running parallel to the horizon, located far below the Sun or Moon. The distance between the arc and the Sun or Moon is twice as far as the common 22-degree halo. Often, when the halo-forming cloud is small or patchy, only fragments of the arc are seen. As with all halos, it can be caused by the Sun as well as (but much more rarely) the Moon.
Other currently accepted names for the circumhorizontal arc are circumhorizon arc or lower symmetric 46° plate arc. The misleading term "fire rainbow" is sometimes used to describe this phenomenon, although it is neither a rainbow, nor related in any way to fire. The term, apparently coined in 2006, may originate in the occasional appearance of the arc as "flames" in the sky, when it occurs in fragmentary cirrus clouds.
The halo is formed by sunlight entering horizontally-oriented, flat, hexagonal ice crystals through a vertical side face and leaving through the near horizontal bottom face (plate thickness does not affect the formation of the halo). In principle, Parry oriented column crystals may also produce the arc, although this is rare. The 90° inclination between the ray entrance and exit faces produce the well-separated spectral colours. The arc has a considerable angular extent and thus, rarely is complete. When only fragments of a cirrus cloud are in the appropriate sky and sun position, they may appear to shine with spectral colours.
How often a circumhorizontal arc is seen, depends on the location and the latitude of the observer. In the United States it is a relatively common halo, seen several times each summer in any one place. In contrast, it is a rare phenomenon in northern Europe for several reasons. Apart from the presence of ice-containing clouds in the right position in the sky, the halo requires that the light source (Sun or Moon) be very high in the sky, at an elevation of 58° or greater. This means that the solar variety of the halo is impossible to see at locations north of 55°N or south of 55°S. A lunar circumhorizon arc might be visible at other latitudes, but is much rarer since it requires a nearly full Moon to produce enough light. At other latitudes the solar circumhorizontal arc is visible, for a greater or lesser time, around the summer solstice. Slots of visibility for different latitudes and locations may be looked up here. For example, in London, England the sun is only high enough for 140 hours between mid-May and late July, whereas Los Angeles has the sun higher than 58 degrees for 670 hours between late March and late September.

Tur Budaya 2019

TUR BUDAYA 2019
On March 17-21, SMAN 3 Bandung held a Cultural Tour to Bali as its destination. The purpose of this is to learn about the culture in Bali, because Bali has a lot of culture that we don't know before. The purpose of this activity is to strengthen the sense of family between students especially 11th grade of SMA 3 Bandung.
So, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 we gathered at Husein Sastra Negara Airport in Bandung at 10:00. We have to gather before the departure time, that is, we go to Bali at 14.00 WIB and arrive at I Gusti Ngurahrai Bali Airport at 16.30 WITA and immediately head to the Bus to get to the first destination.

On the first day, we headed to Jimbaran Beach to enjoy dinner and also take pictures with friends before eating. Actually our first destination was not Jimbaran Beach but Tanah Lot.

Due to the time that did not allow us to finally go straight to Jimbaran Beach to eat seafood. But when I was eating suddenly it rained and we all immediately headed to the inside of the restaurant in Jimbaran and after that finally the committee decided to ask these TurBud participants to go directly to the Quest Bali Hotel.

On the second day, we went to Tanjung Benoa where we can do various watersports such as Donut Boat, Banana Boat, Flying Fish, Jetski, and various other fun games. After we did the watersport, we were satisfied to clean ourselves and then had lunch at the beach, at that time Tanjung Benoa was very hot therefore, after we ate we rushed to the bus to get ready to go to the next destination, Pudjamandala. In Pundjamandala is a place of worship of 5 existing religions. After going from Pudjamandala we went to Garuda Wistu Kencana (GWK).
It is devoted to the Hindu god Vishnu, and his mount, Garuda, the mythical bird who became his companion. It was established as a landmark or mascot of Bali, the construction of the giant statue of Vishnu riding his mount Garuda, as high as 120 meters was completed in August 2018. There we spent time taking pictures of force, class, and also with other friends . Then we go to Bali Nusa Dua Theater Nusa Dua to watch Devdan Show and this our last destination in second day.

On Day 3, we went to Tirta Empul, created by the God Bhatra Indra, which is believed by the Hindu religious community. When entering this place we will be asked to use sarong or kamen cloth. From Tirta Empul we lunch at Kintamani. After that we go to the Penglipuran Traditional Village.
But not long after we entered the village, the weather did not support again. We must wait in one of villager's house. After several minutes we waited, we went back to the bus and we went to the hotel to get ready for the night.

On Day 4 we checked out of the hotel and went to Kuta beach. There we were given free time until 11:00 and after that we went to Krishna to buy souvenirs from Bali for each family. After Krisna we went to Bedugul as our last destination in Bali.

Therefore, until the specified time limit, we take pictures and take a walk in Bedugul until we are satisfied. And when it was 17.00 we got ready to go to Surabaya and we had to cross the ocean to get to Surabaya.
In Surabaya, we passed the Suramadu Bridge, a very long bridge that connects Surabaya and Madura. After that, we ate in Surabaya precisely at Warung Wulan Surabaya. And after eating, we headed to Djuanda Station and left for Bandung with a long time trip. On the train we continue to enjoy our trips with friends by talking and playing. We arrived in Bandung at 05.00 in the morning.

TurBud give a lot of impressions because they can make many memories with friends and cannot be forgotten. I feel very happy and thankful for participating in this TurBud.

Scholarship Recommendation

Dear scholarship committe,
I write this letter in support of Tsania Aufa’s application for the Big Sur Poetry Scholarship. I had the pleasure of teaching Tsania in her 11th and 12th grade English Literature class at 3 Senior High School. She has always impressed me with her ability to be articulate difficult concepts and understand dense texts. Tsania’s sensitivity to the nuances within literature, and her passion for reading and writing, set her apart both as a student and as a writer.
During her senior year, Tsania produced an extraordinary thesis paper on creative identity development, in which she compared works from three different time periods and synthesized cultural and historical perspectives to inform her analysis. When called upon to give her thesis defence in front of her peers, Tsania spoke clearly and eloquently about her conclusions and responded to questions in a thoughtful way. While she shows much promise as a well-rounded liberal arts student, it is poetry which most interests Tsania. She publishes her poetry in various competitions and emerged as winners.
Throughout the year Tsania was an active participant in our discussions, and she always supported her peers. Her caring nature and personality allow her to work well with others in a team setting, as she always respects others’ opinions even when they differ from her own. Throughout the year, Tsania demonstrated this openness to and empathy for the opinions, feelings, and perspectives of others, along with shrewd powers of observation, all qualities that makes her outstanding as a student of literature and aspiring poetess.
I am certain that Tsania is going to continue to do great and creative things in her future. Her work, as I am sure you will agree, demonstrates an impressive depth for a young student. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at: dyah@gmail.com
Sincerely,

And after that we started to stay in 1 family home in there. In our home, was filled with 8 people. and when we were there, we created alot of memories with my bestfriend. We visited each other home until 10 pm we have to get rest.

Edu Passion 2019

Edu Passion 2019

Edu Passion 2018 is an activity of SMA Negeri 3 Bandung organized to give an idea for 12th graders (but 10th and 11th grade too) in continuing education to college.
In this activity we had to work together with our RBL group to get important information from several Uni booths at the event.
Some examples of state universities are ITB, IPB, Unisba, Unpad, and Unpar. Then as for the college sasta, for example, Maranatha University, Widyatama University, London Communication University, etc.

Then the registration has been opened on the online path. Then there are universities that provide scholarships for the poor, certain routes have been provided. Various ways that can be taken to become new students. There is an SNMPTN path, then there is the SBMPTN line, etc.

Then during the event the committee provided a special room which featured presentations from one faculty from a particular university. Many students participated to watch presentations from students including me. I attended the Pharmacy presentation at ITB. Our department is given various explanations about the pharmacy faculty at ITB. Starting from the location, lessons to be mastered, the cost of the semester, the number of credits, and many more.

So, in my opinion Edu Passion is very useful for high school students, especially 12th grade because it can help us find a university that we think is suitable for us.

Thank You.

Youtube effect to Indonesian Young Generation

Youtube is an application which contains many video with various themes that are now widely use by Indonesian young generation.

There's a lot of people that use youtube to study, watch video without pay anything (any video that we want), but young generation mostly watch youtube without remembering time or also make the young generation start to addicted to watch youtube.

There's a reasearch and it said most of young people(13-24 years old) about 65% , they keep watch video since morning until in the evening. And also many people said that watch video can fix our mood and deacresing our stress.

But still, even it can fix our mood and deacreasing the stress, wa\e can't watch it many time or too long because its not healthy for our body, our eyes, our brain. Why brain? Our brain needs go rest too, but if there's a light or we watch video from phone or laptop, our brain keep working and working. and spending time with youtube a lot, we decrease our time with family. And family its more important then Youtube.

In conclusion, youtube give a good and bad effect to young generation. The good effects are it can increase our mood once we watch the video we like and also we can get an education from the video. But, the bad effect are we can be addicted to youtube and its not good to our physically or mentally if we watch it too long or if we're not use it wisely.

Assesment Rubric 2 {Debate}

Assesment Rubric 2 {Debate}

a)      Motion : TH Would not use National Examination for Graduation Standart

·         Opening Government :
It make student stressful because they have to memorize all the lesson in once.
·         Opening Opposition :
National Examination is a basic standard of education. The examination is not that hard. NE is good for our National. If NE isn’t a graduation standard, student can feel that school has no benefits.
·         Closing Government :
Most of Indonesians students is cheating when the examination. It can give negative effect for students because there’s a lot of pressure.
·         Closing Opposition :
It will be hard to see the student future because there’s no standard. And NE is a useful standard to go to the higher education.
b)      Motion : The Use of Handphone in The Classroom
·         Government :
Cellphone is a a good technology for education. Because if we can’t find any information that we read in the library (books), we can find it on its more fast.
·         Opposition :
Cellphone can distract the students consentration. It can make the student open another thing on the cellphones, not what they actually want to search for their lesson. So we can say that cellphones brings us a good thing to use it in the classroom, but we should always know when we use it to play, or when we use it to learn.

Assesment Rubric (Debate)

# Round 1 "TH should supports the death penalty for corruptors"

  • Opening Government
Agree to the death penalty for corruptor. The corruptors  deserves to get death penalty because they've stole civillians money. If the corruptor only put in the jail, after she/he go out again can do "that" again (the corruptors).

If the penalty againt human rights, the corruptor take the civillian humanright first, because the took civillian money of the country.
  • Opening Opposition
The death penalty for corruptor stole Human Rights and the corruptor deserves their second    chances.
  • Closing Government
The punishment for mango stoler is heavier than the corruptor; this is unfair.
  • Closing Opposition
The death penalty is not solution. And if the corruptor is out from the jail, they won't be one of the government anymore so they can't corrupt anymore.
  • Winner: Opening Government, because I agree that the corruptors take our human rights first.

# Round 2 "THW ban all pornography"
  •  Opening Government
It's to easy to the younger people to access "pornography" and it's too harmful and addictive such as smoking and drink.
  • Opening Opposition
It's for sex education so it's not that harmful.
  • Closing Government
If the younger people watch it before the right age, it will broke their mind until they're adult and it's to dangerous.
  • Closing Opposition
          It can make us all.
  • Winner: Closing Government, because pornography is broke all of us so I agree with it.

The ongoing outbreaks of H5N1 Avian Influenza in Indonesia have had a significant impact. Since August 2003, more than 10 million livestock have been affected and the H5N1 virus has crossed the species barrier resulting in at least 135 confirmed human cases with 110 deaths. Moreover, the potential exists for the H5N1 Avian Influenza virus to trigger a human pandemic.

Research on clinical disease, virology and epidemiology of H5N1 in Indonesia is needed to understand the ecology and variability in transmission to human. To foster essential research, WHO requests for proposal that will then be evaluated through a review process. The awards will then be made to compentent researchers and institutions focused on research of local scientists and public health professionals. Areas for research include:

1.        Studies of disease ecology, transmission, and epidemiology.
